NFL Week 14
NFL Week 14
(12/10/09)
Matt Driffill
Can’t really write much this week due to finals and research papers. Unfortunately my professors don’t think “Sports-Meisting” counts as an excuse to miss tests or be late on work. So this week and this week only, the picks are taking a back seat to my academics. Sorry guys, but I’ll update my blog this week with jokes and insight and other things that I think matter but really don’t. Enjoy my picks with one-liners!
Last Week (6-10-0)
Season (99-91-10)
Home teams in bold.....
Pittsburgh (-10) over Cleveland
Does Drew Cary have nude pictures or Roger Goodell or something? How does Cleveland keep getting on primetime?
Denver (+7) over Indianapolis
First time I’ve picked against Indy all year.... Weird right?
Minnesota (-7) over Cincinnati
I don’t think the Bengals can score with Minnesota, especially in a dome.
New York Jets (-3) over Tampa Bay
Freeman looked like Donavon McNabb his first week but has looked more like Daunte Caulpepper since.
Kansas City (PK) over Buffalo
The Chiefs are tough at home and the Bills are tough nowhere this season.
Green Bay (-3) over Chicago
The packers are better than expected and the Bears are much worse
New Orleans (-10) over Atlanta
Chris Redman might not be the answer in Atlanta after all.
Baltimore (-13.5) over Detroit
Stafford’s out and it’s in Baltimore when they need a win, yeah, I like the Ravens big.
Miami (+3) over Jacksonville
The Dolphins are tough at home in December, and yes that is a joke at the Jaguars’ lack of fans.
New England (-13.5) over Carolina
A lot of people are writing about how the Patriots aren’t that good anymore; basically I feel bad for Carolina.
Houston (-6) over Seattle
Houston’s due for a good week after slipping out of the playoff race
Tennessee (-13) over St. Louis
Chris Johnson has a 2000 yard season in his sights, and Stephen Jackson has free agency in his dreams.
Oakland (+1) over Washington
The Bruce Gradkowski era is upon us, and as a Broncos fan, I couldn’t be more excited.
San Diego (+3) over Dallas
Hope Dallas wins, but the Chargers have been the best team in the league since week 6.
Philadelphia (+1) over New York Giants
This is where the Eagles display that they have the potential to win a Super Bowl.
Arizona (-3.5) over San Francisco
Weird that the 49ers season and the Big Dogs season both ended last week when Frank Gore struggled.
